Eschol Davis and two sons spent their Christmas vacation with relatives here and at Rogers, Ark. Eschol is attending the Tulane Medical School at New Orleans and has two more years before graduating. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Spiva and daughter of Joplin, G.

I. Lewis and Mrs. Ressie Spiva of Stella and M1s. Eloth Small of Lincoln, were dinner guests of Rev. and Mrs.

Donald Barnett and daughter of Wichita visited relatives and friends -here during the Christmas holidays. The former's mother, Mrs. James Barnett, returned home with them for a few days visit. Mr. and Mrs.

Clayton and Kenneth Garrison were dinner guests of Mrs. Pearl Garrison Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Duncan, south of town, were Joplin visitors Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Belka of Neosho and Geo. Feeney and son cf Kansas City visited Sunday with Mrs. Pearl Garrison.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Vineyard and daughters of Kansas City, spent the Christmas holidays in the C. A. Vineyard home.

Laticia Weeks, of Florida spent the weekend with her mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. John Morgan. Mr. and Mrs.

Hobart Fox, of Weskan, left Sunday for their home following a week's vacation spent with relatives here and near Powell. Mr. and Mrs. J. G.

Major and children of Augusta, spent the Christmas Holidays with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. L. Major.

Jo Ann Fox returned to Columbia today to resume her studies at Stephens College after a three- and Mrs. Floyd Davis, who had spent the past week in the A. G. Reed home, returned to their homes here with them. Mrs.

W. C. Harper of near Bethlehem was a visitor at The Journal Office Wednesday. Mr. Harper went to Phoenix, three weeks ago.

Mrs. Harper is running a want ad in this issue of The Journal to sell 14 head of Holstein heifers and when they are sold she plans to join her husband in Phoenix. He went to Arizona for his health and is slightly improved at present. Mr. and Mrs.

J. E. Wildman had as dinner guests Sunday, Capt. and Mrs. Patrick E.

Wildman and two sons of Camp Pendleton, Miss Lena Scholes of Granby and Mrs. Ralph Brown and son, Joe David of Neosho. Capt. Wildman will be remembered by many as basketball coach at Fairview before joining the Marines some 10 years ago. While in Korea he was severly wounded by machine gun bullets.

He spent some time in a hospital in Japan before being sent to the United States for further hospitalization. He is home now on a 30-day leave from the hospital in California. He is a nephew of J. E. Wildman of here.

Benj. A. Cartwright and sons, Dale and Rollin, of Norman, Okla-, spent Sunday night in the L. 0. Cartwright home and left Monday ut noon for Rogersville where Dale caught a bus for St.

Louis. He is attending the Washington University of dentistry and spent his Christmas vacation with home Yolks. Mr. Cartwright and son, Rollin, on their way back, visited in the home of Dr. Blythe of Aurora.

Dr. Blythe and Dr. H. R. Cartwright of Cabool, brother of were school mates in the dental college at Kansas City and graduated together.

Mr. Cartwright and his son arrived back in Wheaton Monday night. spent the night in the L. O. Cartwright home and left Tuesday morning for their home in Norman.

They also visited awhile in the Olin Cartwright home. OBITUARY Frank H. Richardson, son of John H. and Ella Richardson, was born in Buffalo county, Nebraska on March 26, 1885 and died at his home near Stark City, Missouri on Dec. 29, 1950 at the age of 65 years, 9 months, and 3 days.

Leaving to mourn his departure are his wife, Julia E. Richardson, one son, Bailey, of the home; two brothers, Harry Richardson of Neo sho route, and Andrew Richardson of Granby route; two sisters Mrs. Bessie M. Mathis of Granby route and Anna M. Beeler of Neosho route; a number of neices and nephews and a host of friends.

One of the greatest joys of his life was attending church and Sunday School. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Dec. 31 at 2 p. m. at the Stella Methodist Church with Rev.

Marion LaFollette officiating. Interment was made in Hazel Green cemetery. OBITUARY Janice Marie, daughter of Edwin and Ferne Spiva, came -into the world Jan. 8, 1949. For 1 year, 11 months and 17 days she brought sunshine into the hearts of her parents and other loved ones.

3 Anderson, Mo. CLUB NEWS The December meeting of the Love Progressive Club was held et the home of Lillie Plumlee. Seven members were present- A covered dish luncheon was served at noon. The day was spent doing textile painting. The next meeting will be Wednesday, Jan- 3 at the Love school house.

CARD OF THANKS I wish to thank my many friends and neighbors who have sent me greetings and who have visited me during the last seven weeks that I have spent in the Cardwell hospital in Stella. I received 89 greetings and more than a hundred persons visited me. It isn't pleasant to be ill but these thoughtful and kind friends have made me very happy and wish to thank them. I feel very fortunate to live near such a well equipped hospital with a doctor and hospital staff that takes such a personal interest in the welfare of its I had no idea how many people and how wide an area is being served by this hospital. There were people from four states and one patient from Alaska served by the hospital while I was there.
